Website Analysis - Young Guns

I've looked at the official website for Young Guns, a rock band from Buckinghamshire and London. Their website is actually a tumblr blog, which helps them be closer to their fans and their target audience - as the vast majority of tumblr users are young adults and use social networks frequently.

The artwork on the website is fairly simple - with a minimalistic title and font, also showing the band's logo and a digitally enhanced image of a woman. The colours they've used are simple too, just white and purple in varying shades. The image and the colours give a sense of mystical feeling to the band and perhaps suggests the band are mysterious and other worldly, giving the audience a sense of hyper-reality and magic which many people like to buy into.

There are direct links to the band Youtube page as well as their Facebook and Twitter, making it easy for fans to listen to the music and well as encouraging them to interact and market the band through their own accounts on such websites. The homepage layout is simple and this makes it easy for people to find their way around the page and also discover what the band has to offer, such as the merch. The merch link leads off to another separate page which again, is pretty minimalistic - a plain white background  but with a coloured logo. Although the the colours are different, the style stays the same throughout.
